Baby Groot is a character from Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. He is a smaller, younger version of Groot, a sentient tree-like being.

Following the events of the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, Groot sacrifices himself to save his friends. From a twig of the original Groot, Baby Groot sprouts, retaining some memories but essentially being a new individual.

Baby Groot's first appearance is in the post-credits scene of the Guardians of the Galaxy movie released in 2014. He is known for his childlike behavior, dancing, and limited vocabulary, primarily repeating the phrase "I am Groot".

In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, he is still a toddler. By the time of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, he enters his teenage years.
